Why did itia ask for the third time to postpone the hearing of Simona Halep in the doping scandal. Explanations from the Agency

The International Agency for Integrity in Tennis (ITIA) argued on Tuesday, May 23, that it had asked for a further postponement of Simona Halep’s hearing in the doping scandal because “we proposed that both charges be tried at the same appearance, in order to avoid more hearings”.

Simona Halep’s hearing has been scheduled for May 28, but could be delayed for the third time. The sportswoman announced on Monday night that the ITIA had asked for another postponement, and now, the International Tennis Integrity Agency has come up with explanations, wrote GSP.

“We have proposed that both charges be tried at the same appearance in order to avoid more hearings. For that to happen, we want all the parties involved, including the Tribunal, to have enough time to process the large amount of evidence in this case. In the end, the decision rests with the General Court. Simona Halep will also have the chance to present her arguments before the Tribunal,” reads the ITIA reaction, according to the international press.
