Lionel Messi leaves for the United States. The Argentinian star will play at Inter Miami

Argentine star Lionel Messi, 35, will join US side Inter Miami this summer after ending his contract with current club Paris Saint Germain, France, the BBC reports.

Messi had a choice between offers from Al Hilal, in Saudi Arabia, or Inter Miami, in the end the footballer being convinced to go to the United States, after the agreement with the Florida group also included collaboration with brands such as Adidas and Apple.

In addition, the 35-year-old footballer owns a villa in Miami, which he has so far rented.

It is the first time that the famous Argentine footballer will play at a club outside of Europe.

According to Marca, Messi allegedly received a 3-year offer from Miami, but the amount was not disclosed by the Spanish daily.

With Lionel Messi in the team, PSG have won their last two championships in France. The South American footballer has scored a total of 32 goals in 75 games for PSG and ended this season with 16 goals and 16 assists in Ligue 1.

Messi’s two-year contract with the French side ends this summer and both sides have agreed to go their separate ways after the striker was suspended for two weeks in May for an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia.

Lionel Messi is Barcelona’s all-time top scorer with 672 goals and has won 10 La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues and seven Spanish cups with the Catalan group, in which he played for 21 years.
