The average age in the village at over 970 meters altitude is 65 years, the consequence of the demographic crisis in isolated places like this. Between 30 and 40 percent of the population is vaccinated and truly miraculous is the fact that no one here has ever come into contact with the virus.

The Edil recognises how easy it is to apply the rules in some places where distance and isolation are the norm, where the pure mountain air reigns supreme and “kilometers and kilometers of wild land in which, as the tourists we are pleased to host increasingly point out, there is no human presence in any way, no pillar , not an inch of concrete.”

Poggiodomo has only one commuter student, no shops, only street vendors who arrive in the village twice a week. Up and down
