Nathan Baggaley, who won two silver medals at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, and his brother, Dru Baggaley, pleaded not guilty, but a jury in Brisbane found them guilty after a two-week trial, Nine News reports.

The brothers remained in custody until sentencing. The two face life in prison.

Dru Baggaley and another man were arrested in the summer of 2018 after law enforcement intercepted their boat, and video footage showed the pair throwing bags overboard. Authorities seized more than 500 kilograms of cocaine, according to court documents.

Nathan Baggaley, who was not aboard the ship at the time of the arrests, bought the ship and helped equip it with navigational technology, according to court documents. The Olympic athlete’s fingerprint was also found on a piece of tape used to cover the license plate of the craft.

The two brothers have been convicted in the past in another drug trafficking case.
