“After the completion of the new project in about six months and after the organised tender, at the risk of due diligence, I hope that in 2021 the construction of this stadium will begin,” Marcel Vela said, according to Agerpres.

Marcel Vela made it clear that the new Dinamo stadium will not be built parallel to the Stefan cel Mare Road, but obliquely and will have the shape of a drop of water.

“If a stadium were built parallel to the access street, perpendicular to the facades of the houses, it would not be fair. The stadium will not be located parallel to the access street, it will be oblique and in steps, so that towards the access street and the facades of the houses in the vicinity of the Dinamo club have the lowest height. So it will be in the form of a drop of water, the big, high part will be in the back, towards the trees,” Vela said.

At the same time, the Director General of the National Investment Company, Manuela Pătraşcoiu, said that the works would be completed in 2023: “From the experience of the other stadiums, we are proposing a design and execution period, I hope to be in agreement with the designer, 24-30 months. So somewhere in 2023 be ready.”

The Dinamo Stadium within the Sports Complex of the Stefan cel Mare Road should have been among the 4 renovated Bucharest arenas for organizing matches from EURO 2020 in Bucharest.

Due to legal problems, the reconstruction of the stadium was postponed and a decision was taken to erect a new arena inside the sports park.
