An NHL hockey coach has been sacked for refusing to get vaccinated against COVID-19

Sylvain Lefebre was sacked by NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets team shortly after being hired as an assistant coach, CNN reported, as quoted by News.ro.

The NHL club’s decision was made after Sylvain Lefebre refused to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

“The coach will not be able to perform his duties given the NHL protocol actal,” the Columbus Blue Jackets club announced.

Sylvian Lefebvre had been employed as an assistant coach for the NHL team for less than two months.

According to the NHL protocol related to covid-19, clubs are required to have the people in the technical staff and the administrative staff vaccinated.

As far as players are concerned, there is no obligation, but those who are not immunised must follow a much stricter protocol than those who are vaccinated in the hockey league.
