A Ukrainian soldier considered dead after his tank hit a mine crawled with broken legs 6 kilometers until he was rescued

A wounded soldier from the 28th Mechanized Brigade who was believed to have died in the tank explosion he was in after the armoured vehicle stepped on a mine, crawled six kilometres with his legs broken to a higher place from where he asked his colleagues for help, Ukrinform reports.

The announcement of the rescue of the wounded soldier, stood for almost a day under enemy fire, was made on Thursday by the spokesman of the regional military administration in Odessa, Sergei Bratchuk.

“The wounded fighter of the Odessa brigade, who was considered dead, crawled 6 km with both legs broken and survived, after his tank was blown up by a mine when he entered a village destroyed by the Russians a second time,” Sergei Bratchuk noted on Telegram.

“He stayed almost a day under enemy fire until he managed to call his colleagues who thought he was dead. And his colleagues finally managed to save him,” sergei Bratchuk said.

According to the press service of the 28th Mechanized Brigade, the soldier was the chief mechanic of the T-64 Serhiy tank who, during a mission to a village destroyed by the Russian army, exploded after hitting a mine.

Arriving at the hospital, the military man is currently recovering, according to the doctors’ forecast he can go again in at least 6 months.
